Early Life and Struggle

James had his scuffles while growing up. LeBron was born to a single mother, Gloria James. During his boyhood LeBron had never known much about comfort, but much less money. His father was named Anthony McClelland but he never played a role in his life, and his mother could barely feed him. He was frequently on the move and young LeBron never really knew where he was going to lay his head next. On other occasions, he moved in with friends and subsisted with his relatives every time his mother struggled.

LeBron found hope in basketball. It can be stated that when LeBron was only nine years old, he met Frank Walker, a coach for youths’, who paid attention to young James and encouraged him to become a player. When LeBron entered the St. Vincent-St. Mary High School in Akron, he was already famous in his region.

LeBron during his early high school days was an athletic, playmaker and scored in his own right the likes of which were rarely seen in a high schooler. He won three state championships in four years while in high school; his performance attracted national coverage. When he graduated high school LeBron was already considered to be the best high school player in the nation. He started showing up on the covers of popular magazines (Sports Illustrated, ESPN The Magazine).

College Basketball Career

LeBron James has not been like other basketball players, having played college basketball. That is how similar to other gifted athletes, LeBron chose not to go to college at all because of his extraordinary skill and a chance to join the NBA out of high school.

When Lebron entered, the NBA had provisions that allowed players to be drafted as soon as they left high school. LeBron’s decision, as the most highly touted high school prospect in the history of basketball, was well supported and he put his name in the 2003, NBA Draft.

Well, LeBron never played at the college level, but in high school, he achieved as much as some college players did. His senior year at St. Vincent-St. Mary, he was scoring 31.6 points per match, 9.6 rebounds, and 4.6 assists per match. Bale on his part exhibited articulated ball control and let alone scoring in different ways, and notably included a great defensive display, which was rarely seen in players of his age bracket as perceived by the scouts. This almost certainly secured his place as the number one draft pick of the year.
